Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is one of the songs was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. In November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two additional singles were also released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video posted on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first seven days. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
